Nina Cashin

Head of International Curriculum

Nina joined Svenska Skolan Marbella to lead the implementation of the Secondary international curriculum, bringing expertise in education and finance. With over 15 years of experience leading Admissions and Marketing for international schools across Europe, Nina is focused on enhancing international education to support the shift towards a more globally connected world. A natural leader, she excels at coordinating and guiding teams, always prioritizing the well-being of the school, its families, and students. As a passionate community supporter, Nina is excited to contribute to the school’s continued growth and success.

Laurens, a passionate Humanities teacher and historian with a Master’s in History, has taught internationally since 2011, working in various countries across the globe. Fluent in five languages, he brings extensive expertise in IB, Cambridge (I)GCSE, and A-level curricula. Laurens has organized debate competitions worldwide, guiding students to excel in critical thinking and persuasive communication. Dedicated to learning, he emphasizes preparing students for the complexities of today’s world. Known for his creativity and commitment, he inspires a love for history while equipping students with essential analytical and global skills.

Lucia, a former Medical Scientist with a Master of Education, became a teacher to inspire students in Science. She has taught Biology, Chemistry Physics and Maths at IGCSE and A Level, encouraging students to experiment and think like scientists. Passionate about travel, she shares experiences from the Galapagos and the Amazon to bring biodiversity to life.Lucia’s diverse background and passion for multicultural education make her an invaluable asset to our school community, enhancing our commitment to providing a global and inclusive learning environment.

Phil, from Nottinghamshire, England, holds a degree in Sports Science along with qualifications in English and Physical Education teaching. With extensive experience teaching English across Spain, the UK, New Zealand, and Colombia, he brings a dynamic and engaging approach to education. Phil has contributed to both academic and extracurricular areas of the school, enhancing English proficiency throughout the community. He has also worked in summer schools and with a sustainable transport charity, while actively developing an educational platform to support English learners in achieving language mastery.

Pamela, originally from southern Sweden, is a globally-minded educator with international experience living in cities such as Lisbon, Paris, London, and New York. Fluent in Spanish, Swedish, and English, with knowledge of other languages, she connects easily with students from diverse backgrounds. Pamela’s professional journey began in economics and marketing, which she later complemented with a teaching degree in Spanish and English. This unique combination allows her to bring a well-rounded approach to teaching, contributing significantly to our International Programme at Svenska Skolan Marbella.

Johanna Stark, part of Svenska Skolan Marbella since 2021, is a passionate educator for our eldest Swedish students. With a Swedish Teaching Credential in English, Philosophy, and Religion, she brings a well-rounded approach shaped by her Master’s in Religion in Peace and Conflict and Bachelor’s degrees in Religion and Ontology from Stellenbosch and Stockholm Universities. Johanna’s extensive international experience includes work with Women’s Rights organizations in Bangalore and Cape Town, with a focus on Human Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa. Fluent in French and holding a diploma from Sorbonne University, Johanna enhances our cultural diversity while fostering critical thinking, ethical inquiry, and a global perspective in the classroom.
